Help me express the relative presidential voting power?
I tried to find a way to represent the unequal voting power of US citizens in presidential elections. This table is the result. It’s pretty straightforward: The first column is the number of electoral votes by state; the second is the population; the third is electoral-votes/population. I then compare that relative to other states. So the the Texas column says the vote of a Vermonter is worth 3x the vote of a Texan.
Have I got this right? Any corrections, or quibbles? And it would be really cool if someone built a widget to make it simple to see state by state comparison — two pulldown menus, state vs state.
